TSV Hartberg breaks the SCR Altach late

[ad_1]

TSV Hartberg ended a year marked by some successful experiences in their own field with a victory at home. Oststeirer beat Altach 1-0 (0-0) on the final matchday of the Bundesliga before winter break on Saturday. Rajko Rep scored the deciding goal in poor play in the game in the 83rd minute.

For Hartberg it was only the second home win after a 2-1 win against Austria in late October of this calendar year. Markus Schopp’s team stayed connected to the top six in the table. Altach finished the year after a completely unsuccessful fall round, just one point ahead of Admira, the penultimate. The spring season begins on January 23rd.

Inspired by the 4-1 win at Ried last weekend, Altach started the game better. A quick counterattack gave the visitors their best chance after just a minute and a half of play. Following a pass from Emir Karic, Daniel Nussbaumer fired on Hartberg goalkeeper Rene Swete, as well as on the opposing house. It should remain the only significant opportunity until shortly before the half-time whistle.

Much effort and struggle and few playful solutions determined the game. The deep earth did the rest. The bumpy turf gave the locals a chance to take the lead in the last minute of the first half of the game. Altach defender David Bumberger missed when the ball jumped in front of him. Rep pulled Martin Kobras alone, but shot Altach’s goalkeeper in the legs.

At Altach’s sick, Alain Wiss stayed in the hut. Once again, the Shepherd-Elf initially had more possession, but in the decisive third no penetration. Both teams waited for the opponents to make mistakes. One of them led the way for Jürgen Heil towards the goal, but the Hartberg midfielder missed twice in an action on Kobras (63rd).

Hartberg improved again as the game progressed and was rewarded: Altach acted too passively, the ball reaching Rep through Horvath, who closed from the edge of the penalty area to the far corner. The result was maintained because Chinedu Obasi missed the goal in Altach’s final attack (90th).
