The “DOLOMITES Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Troophy” also goes to Kilde
The first winner of the DOLOMITES Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy is Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. The Norwegian earned the most World Cup points in this year’s sprint races at the Saslong and can now look forward to winning the prestigious special award.
As a winner of the Super-G and Downhill, Kilde was also named top winner of the DOLOMITES Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy. The 28-year-old Scandinavian scored 200 points as the winner of both races and was by far the most successful driver at the 53rd Saslong Classic. Behind Kilde, American Ryan Cochran-Siegle, who finished eighth in the Super-G and second in Downhill, was second with 112 points. The third place went to Kjetil Jansrud, the Norwegian accumulated a total of 110 points at the foot of the Langkofel with the third and fourth positions.
The fourth and fifth place in this special ranking was occupied by two athletes from Switzerland: Mauro Caviezel scored 102 points in Super-G and Downhill, while his partner Beat Feuz in his 86th best local athlete of the Val Gardena race week was Dominik Paris. Ultental’s powerhouse landed in the top 15 twice at the Saslong and scored a total of 38 points in both competitions.
As the winner of the DOLOMITES Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy, Kilde received a 3D wooden bust faithful to the original, as well as an additional cash prize of 5,000 euros and a short vacation in Val Gardena. The idea of the special price was developed by the organizing committee of the Saslong Classic in cooperation with DOLOMITES Val Gardena Marketing.
