“It starts with adolescents at puberty and goes up to 35 and 40 who do not sufficiently reduce their social contacts with people from other households,” Hasibeder says. “They think they can’t get seriously ill anyway, which is a mistake. Just one example to make it clear: out of ten patients we had to intubate (invasively ventilate, note) in the intensive care unit, seven died. And they weren’t just very old people ”. At 62, he does not belong to the classic risk group, “but after everything I have seen in recent months in terms of complications and severe courses, I really do not want this disease.”
