Tyrolean municipalities should no longer be responsible for the second wave of massive testing, which should take place from January 8 to 10. This stems from an email sent by the “TirolTestet Team” to all mayors of the APA. It appears that the tests will be carried out on existing inspection lanes and with test buses.
“Due to the numerous inquiries regarding the massive tests announced in January 2021, we may announce that the Tyrolean municipalities do not plan to carry out the tests again,” the email reads verbatim. The country did not want to confirm this directly when asked by the APA. However, it was said that the free antigen testing offer would be available permanently over the Christmas holidays until January 10 and beyond. “Capabilities are continually assessed and can be adjusted at any time if necessary – this, of course, also applies to the weekend of Jan.8-10,” the state said.
Free antigen tests, which will be available from December 19, will be carried out on nine detection lanes in Innsbruck, Kufstein, Lienz, Reutte, Schwaz, Kitzbühel, Zams and Imst. In Innsbruck, for example, the screening streets in the Olympiahalle and those of the Alphotel Innsbruck are available every day from 7 am to 4 pm Furthermore, capacities are created on uneven calendar days in the Reutte, Landeck, Schwaz and Kitzbühel districts by test buses, and on even days in the districts of Imst, Innsbruck-Land, Kufstein and Lienz. In total, free trials are offered at 17 locations.
