This CD laboratory should provide us with new knowledge about the mechanisms of cellular aging and, at the same time, be the basis for new and innovative skin care products. Researchers also want to develop new methods by which the signs of skin aging in healthy people can be tracked easily, quickly and painlessly.
Among other things, they are based on imaging mass spectrometry, which makes it possible to precisely locate thousands of biological molecules in tissues, but also in skin care products. They also want to investigate how new active ingredients can counteract accelerated skin aging.
In DC labs approved by the Christian Doppler Society (CDG) for seven years each, scientists cooperate with companies in the field of application-oriented basic research. Half of the budget comes from the public sector and half from industrial partners, in this particular case from Chanel.
