It is believed that two-thirds can be confirmed by PCR testing. In addition to the population in all districts, residents of nursing homes and nursing homes, as well as education sector personnel and police officers, were assessed.

“The organization and implementation were perfect, thanks to the typical good cooperation of Salzburg between the state, emergency organizations, authorities and communities. I would like to thank everyone who contributed ”, said Governor Wilfried Haslauer, obtaining a positive balance during four days of testing in Salzburg.

Tests for Haslauer’s “new normal”

For Haslauer, serial testing is part of future normalcy. “Certain activities will only be possible if you have a negative test. That will be a new form of personal hygiene ”. You could also think of ways of possible incentives to increase the level of motivation, the governor said.

From Annaberg-Lungötz to nursing homes

Annaberg-Lungötz started the series of tests in the state in early December. In the education sector, 8,283 people were tested over the weekend, 19 of whom tested positive. Later tests were carried out for the Executive Branch with 1,200 participants. Result here: four tested positive. From 11 to 13 December tests were carried out in all districts of Salzburg, 125,256 people participated, 538 were positive, 372 of which so far have been confirmed by a PCR test. The tests were concluded in social institutions such as residential buildings for the elderly or disabled. Smears were taken from 2,732 residents, 10 of whom were positive. The outstanding results of the PCR follow-up tests will be published as soon as they are complete.

Salzburg will participate in the second major population test in early January, a Haslauer spokesman said Tuesday at the request of the APA. January 8, 9 and 10 are scheduled, but have not yet been officially confirmed. If there is a need beforehand in the education, health or care sector, it will also be covered. The country has enough test kits available. Test roads for individual free trial options up to the second massive test in January are not planned in Salzburg.
