The fact that you can visit relatives cannot depend on the size of your wallet
Klagenfurt (OTS) – The leader of the FPÖ state party of Carinthia, Klubobmann Mag. Gernot Darmann, welcomes the plan that everyone can visit their relatives in the nursing home if they can present a current negative corona antigen test. “I have been asking for this exact procedure for months. The previous blanket ban on visiting Carinthia until December 16 is wrong because the residents of the house feel lonely. Now my demand is finally being met, ”Darmann said.
However, it is incomprehensible to him that the social manager of the SPÖ LHStv. Beate Prettner assumes that family members will have to pay for this test.
“That would be extremely antisocial. Whether or not you are allowed to visit family members cannot depend on the size of your wallet, ”emphasizes Darmann.
He points out that this mainly affects those whose spouses need to be cared for at home. “In these cases, many older people suffer a massive loss of income. This is because a large part of the joint pension is collected to cover housing expenses and the housing partner only has an amount equal to the minimum pension. Those affected should now pay a corona test with their low income. That is unacceptable ”, concludes Darmann.
