What happens after the massive tests?
“After the test is before the test” is the motto now, and that is why testing will be carried out again on a large scale before Christmas: Tyrol has announced that the free antigen for all citizens will be available from the December 19 until the new year. He wants to offer evidence. Upper Austria is also following this plan. The idea was also well received in the other federal states. Salzburg, Styria, Vorarlberg, Burgenland and Carinthia are also considering starting a second round before Christmas.
At least there are test kits left from the first round. And in Vienna? Free corona tests have been offered in the federal capital since the summer. So far, of course, you should only come to the test roads if you have mild symptoms. This recommendation could drop soon. The truth is that a second series of tests will begin at the national level from January 8 to 10. Y: In schools, the first day of school after the New Year is a potential testing day for all teachers and students.
Is it true that the government is considering making participation in mass testing with vouchers more attractive?
That’s right. Both the Ministry of Health and the Federal Chancellery are friends with the idea of an “incentive”. ÖVP and the Greens are basically not enthusiastic about the idea of offering a bonus for a free health service, and those are the crown tests, yes. But it is quite realistic that you will receive a voucher for participating in the next massive test.
The idea behind it: companies that suffer especially from closure or measures prescribed by the authorities often have to receive state support in any case. And as in Vienna, where officially closed catering establishments were supported with a gastronomic voucher, a voucher solution for all of Austria is being considered that would kill two birds with one stone: aid for the ailing economy and an incentive for groups population that survive. Calls for solidarity and personal responsibility leave little or no impression.
