Only one in five Austrians wants to be vaccinated

[ad_1]

Pollster Peter Hajek’s current “Austria Trend” for APA and ATV shows that currently only slightly less than one in five Austrians want to be vaccinated against the corona virus.

AUSTRIA. When asked about willingness to vaccinate, a gradation between 0 (“definitely not”) and 10 (“definitely not”) was possible. Only 17 percent of those surveyed said they were “pretty sure” about getting the vaccine, including mostly ÖVP voters (24 percent) and people over 60 (29 percent). 29 percent “definitely not.”

Thirteen percent of Austrians put eight or nine people ready to be vaccinated. A similar scale is also used to measure willingness to participate in elections. Therefore, opinion researcher Peter Hajek assumes that “from today’s point of view” about 30 percent of the population can be mobilized for CoV vaccination. According to the survey, 83 percent reject mandatory vaccination. Only 14 percent were in favor, the rest did not comment.

CoV measures too loose for a third

On the other hand, the population does not agree when evaluating the CoV measurements in force since December 7: 37 percent consider them correct, for a third (33 percent) the measurements are too lax. A good fifth (22 percent) consider them too hot. It was notable that, according to the poll, supporters of the SPÖ and NEOS were more likely to accept stricter measures than voters of the ruling parties. The majority of FPÖ voters are already going too far.

More than half satisfied with the government

The evaluation of the government’s work is worse than in the first half of the year: 76 percent were satisfied with the government at that time. With 55 percent approval, the Turquoise Green coalition is still in better shape than all previous coalitions since the poll began in 2009. However, 42 percent are less or not satisfied with the government’s work.

ÖVP ready our SWEET

In Sunday’s question, the ÖVP is still clearly ahead of the SPÖ with 39 percent. The SPÖ currently holds 22 percent, the FPÖ 16, the Greens 13 and the NEOS nine percent. This means that the values of the parties, after a high for the ÖVP and the Greens in April, have returned to pre-crisis levels. The SPÖ, which is stable at more than 20 percent, has improved.

The “Austria Trend” analyzes the political mood every two months. With around 800 respondents, the maximum fluctuation range is plus / minus 3.4 percent.
