The man had an argument with a 46-year-old friend in an apartment in Enns (Linz-Land district) on Friday night. There were fights in which the man threatened to kill the woman and is said to have held a steak knife. A witness finally called the police.
I wanted to “give orders” to the police
When officers arrived, the 43-year-old was waiting for them in a fighting stance with his fists raised, police said Saturday. “He behaved extremely aggressively, telling officers that as an officer in the German armed forces he was giving orders, he deserved respect and that his arrest was not possible because the police had no chance against him,” the press release said. The police asked the notably drunk man to stop his behavior, after which he took off his shirt, returned to his fighting stance and gestured threateningly towards the police officers. Later, the man was arrested. The 43-year-old also behaved aggressively in the cell: he kicked and hit the bars and only gradually calmed down during the night. The Steyr prosecutor’s office ordered a blanket indictment.
