Oliver Glasner narrowly prevailed on Friday night in Austria’s coaches’ duel with Adi Hütter in the German Bundesliga. VfL Wolfsburg celebrated a 2-1 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of the eleventh round.

Wolfsburg also survived the 11th game of the season undefeated and took their fourth victory in the last five rounds. Frankfurt is eight games without winning and after five straight draws they lost again.

The match winner for the home team was Wout Weghorst with his season goals number eight (76th / penalty) and nine (88th). VfL equaled a club record for the 2008/09 and 2014/15 seasons with eleven undefeated matches. For Frankfurt, a penalty goal from Bas Dost (63rd) was too little.

Austrians involved in all three goals

ÖFB team defender Martin Hinteregger, who was knocked down, got the penalty at 0: 1. “I’m very pissed off, we are entitled to a penalty and then we give them two goals. We just act stupid, it hurts, ”Hinteregger said after the game.

His compatriot Stefan Ilsanker was partly to blame when he tied, as he awarded a penalty after one hand. On the side of the winners, Xaver Schlager also had a great performance, in the ninth minute he hit the crossbar, in the 2-1 he gave the assist with a great pass.

At least temporarily, Wolfsburg reached fourth place in the table with its fifth win, while Frankfurt remains ninth for the time being.
