The Klosterneuburg favorite came out of the locker room better and was ahead from the start. With the continuation of the third quarter, the state capital opposed with all its might and kept the gap at two points. The tension in the final stage was difficult to overcome, the lead changed several times and with four minutes remaining, St. Pölten was suddenly four points ahead. Dukes coach Zeleznik pulled the rope and took the urgently needed time out. The time-out was useful for the dukes and two minutes before the end it balanced again. Oikonomopoulos managed to take the lead for St. Pölten with an important three in the final minute and the men around coach Worenz did not return it. SKN St. Pölten won the first derby against Klosterneuburg in eight years with a well deserved 91:86.
