Do we need protection from too much weather protection?

The EU wants to drastically toughen its CO2 reduction targets. The industry fears for its future in Europe and calls for “protection against emigration”. The planned climate rate is not enough.

Vienna Timing is everything. In time for the fifth anniversary of the Paris climate treaty, the EU wants to significantly increase its climate targets. Until now, member states had to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent compared to 1990 levels by 2030. It is quite possible that this target value will drop to less than 55 percent after the summit of the EU that will take place today and tomorrow. This means that EU countries would have to save as much CO2 again in the next decade as they did in the previous 30 years.

While some commercial companies celebrate the stricter climate regime with public relations, domestic production companies are already pulling out their pocket calculators. They know that the planned intermediate sprint in terms of climate protection will not only affect the way we live, heat and travel, but also how, and especially where, national companies will produce in the future.
