Nearly 3,000 new coronavirus infections were reported Wednesday.

On Wednesday, 2,932 new corona virus infections were reported in Austria. Three federal states exceeded the limit of 500 new infections.
In the last 24 hours, more than 500 new corona virus infections were recorded in the federal states of Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria. Along with infections from the other federal states, Austria reached a total of 2,932 corona cases on Wednesday.
New corona infections by federal state
New infections since the last report are distributed among the federal states of Austria as follows:
- Burgenland: 118
- Carinthia: 291
- Lower Austria: 519
- Upper Austria: 544
- Salzburg: 201
- Steiermark: 443
- Tyrol: 166
- Vorarlberg: 104
- Vienna: 546
So far there have been 311,002 positive test results in Austria. As of today (December 9, 2020, 9:30 a.m.), 4,056 people in Austria have died as a result of the corona virus and 265,815 have recovered. Currently, 3,854 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus, and 610 of them are in intensive care units.
