The Qatari team participates in the qualifying rounds of the World Cup

Qatar, host of the World Cup, will participate in the European qualification for the World Cup in 2022. This was confirmed by UEFA on Tuesday. The national team of the host country for the 2022 World Cup, which will take place from November 21 to December 18, will bring together Group A training sessions with European champion Portugal.

Qatar will play test matches

Qatar will play in Group A against Portugal, Serbia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan. Qatar will play the first match against Luxembourg on March 24, 2021. They meet in Azerbaijan three days later. That comes from a game plan published by UEFA.

The plan is for Qatar to play friendly matches as a visiting team in Group A against the team that does not play on a given day. According to UEFA, Qatar will play its home games in Europe. Games with Qatari participation have no sporting effect on the result of the group. It’s surprising that the soccer midget competes in European and non-Asian qualifying matches.

Qualifying begins in late March 2021, the other games take place in September, October, and November. The winners of a total of ten groups will participate in the final phase of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
