The night of terror on November 2 is still fondly remembered by many. However, candles have now been removed from the monument at the site of the attack on Vienna’s Seitenstettengasse, suspected of being a 56-year-old Austrian. The woman was discovered by airport police officers in the arrivals hall on Monday and transferred to her colleagues in Vienna.

Officials from the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Combating Terrorism questioned the suspect about the incident, but she appeared confused. However, he is said to have admitted to kicking candles and went to the monument. According to the Vienna State Police Directorate (LPD), the administrative criminal proceedings were initiated on suspicion of disturbing public order. Furthermore, the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office is examining whether the incident could still have criminal consequences for the woman.
