After the 80 test stations closed on Sunday after the Corona area tests ended, Governor Markus Wallner drew a consistent positive balance: “The organization was excellent and we can also be satisfied with the participation.”
More than 105,000 people were tested Dec. 4-6, 476 tests positive (0.45 percent). While 53,000 and 36,000 people respectively registered for the test in the first two days, there were only 18,000 on Sunday. A total of 31 percent of those eligible to take the test were registered.
The final result arrives on Monday
Evaluation of the PCR tests still running today is expected over the course of Monday. Then the public will also be informed about the final result of the area tests in Vorarlberg.
More than 105,000 Vorarlberg residents responded to the call and participated in nationwide testing over the past three days. “I would like to expressly thank you for being tested and for taking a significant step in fighting the pandemic together,” Governor Wallner said.
“Perfect organization system”
Wallner also reminds us that it took a lot of hands to make it a success: “Without this perfect organizational system, not so many people would have come. I would also like to express my appreciation for this organizational masterpiece, which was launched in a very short time and with a tremendous amount of commitment and know-how. I was always aware that it would be best to use an independent solution from Vorarlberg. ” The 80 test stations would have worked perfectly, the governor said.
Basis for any further evidence
The next step will be to analyze in detail the data and results of the area tests. In any case, Wallner is already clear that one is well prepared for more tests in the area and also for the vaccination campaigns next year. “We can draw on the experiences of the last three days. We will now discuss the next steps with the experts, ”Wallner said. The implementation of vaccination campaigns at the national level is already being prepared; for these too, essentially one can use the organization and processes of the area tests.
