Approximately 500 soldiers did the tests in 20 places and a total of 55 streets: 25,953 people came. Of these, 64 were positive and 55 could not be assessed. The latter were asked to reevaluate, Military Commander Dieter Muhr said Sunday night.

“Initial difficulties did not prevent kindergarten teachers and staff from attending the tests. There was a high level of discipline among those tested and the process went smoothly,” Muhr said.

The participation rate is 64 percent.

Mass test – registration possible

In Upper Austria, registration for mass tests for the entire population begins tomorrow, Monday. More than 1.4 million people are called to participate. After the final rehearsal for teacher tests on the weekend, despite initial setbacks, the state decided to process registrations for general tests with the federal IT system.

Registration is possible at www.österreich-testet.at. Mass testing will take place December 11-14. Almost 600 test lines will be available at 150 locations. 5,700 people – medical specialists, administrative staff, and some volunteers – will be on call every day to ensure that everything is running safely. The armed forces are responsible for the distribution and storage of the test kits.
