The match went into overtime after normal playing time at 3: 3. Since this went goalless, the penalty shoot-out had to decide. Marco Richter was the only player to be found there.
The Viennese took the lead through Ali Wukovits in the 9th minute, which Samuel Fejes immediately tied. Oliver Setzinger put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute after a counterattack and a pass from Fejes with a short pass. This time, however, the Viennese drew flatteringly with Ty Loney (32nd). Other hits by Setzinger (38th) and Loney (40th) did not result in a decision. The Viennese scored a post shot from Wukovits in extra time, in the end Richter fixed the narrow victory at home.
In the table, HCB Südtirol remains in the lead with 31 points, Graz is second with 29 points. Vienna follows in third place with one point down.
