Löger and Günter Geyer have known each other since they were both on the board of directors of Donau Versicherung, a subsidiary of VIG. Geyer is chairman of the group’s supervisory board and chairman of the association’s board of directors.

Starting in 2021, the group’s board of directors will once again have eight members. Löger succeeds Franz Fuchs, who retired mid-year but is still on board as a consultant.
