Scandal over the coup posts despite the blockade

Despite the lockdown, crowds of people crowd in front of the punch stands.

The Viennese obviously don’t want to let the Christmas atmosphere and especially the punch take away. Like the previous weekend, the first weekend of Advent they held a pilgrimage to the punch stalls of the city.

During a local inspection in the Museum Quarter, it was noticed that there were a huge number of people walking. A similar image in Meinl am Graben. Dozens of visitors lined up in line to get a cup of punch or mulled wine.

Is that allowed even with blocking?

Peter Dobcak, Gastroobmann at the Chamber of Commerce: “In principle there is nothing against it, as long as the minimum distance is respected.” But yesterday it was not always like that, report the neighbors. That is the real scandal. And all without masks.

Since Christmas markets were not allowed to open, punch stalls are considered take-out. Drinks are only allowed 50 meters from the bar. Standing tables are prohibited.

It’s also more than questionable whether drinking punch is a basic necessity like going for a walk, and therefore curfew doesn’t apply.
