Fischnaller to start the podium – sledding on the artificial track

For Dominik Fischnaller, the World Cup season started with a podium: the artificial track slide came third at the start at Igls.

After the first race Fischnaller came in third, in the second race the 27-year-old from Meransen was able to defend the podium with the fourth best race. The difference to the victorious Felix Loch of Germany was ultimately 0.180 seconds.

Loch triumphed after 2 races with a total time of 1.39.941 minutes and relegated his compatriot Johannes Ludwig to second position (+0.126 seconds). For Loch it was the first World Cup victory since February 2019 and the 40th overall.

Kevin Fischnaller also made the top 10. Dominik Fischnaller’s cousin came in seventh.

Leon Felderer finished in 22nd place, Lukas Gufler ranked 23rd, Alex Gufler finished the race in 27th place.

Igls is the first of the 9 World Cup stations this season. For the first time, the Beijing Olympic track is also on the racing calendar. The two-seaters start on Saturday afternoon, the start for women is on the Sunday program.
