Heidenreichstein also shows solidarity
The campaign also finds help in Heidenreichstein: here the “Orange the World” campaign against violence against women is actively supported. “From November 25 to December 10, not only Heidenreichstein Castle, but also several companies will be illuminated in orange,” says Alice Wittig-Pascher, pharmacist in Heidenreichstein.
Also involved are the Janetschek printing house, the Hörmann car dealer, the Framsohn Frottier and Rudda companies, the Volksbank and the Heidenreichstein pharmacy, which also have their own showcase with posters and information panels. Wittig-Pascher: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved for showing commitment to such an important issue.”
For 16 days, a clear signal against violence against women will be set in the castle town. “Right now, in these extraordinarily demanding times, solidarity and respect are more important than ever. Violence must never be directed against individuals and must not be tacitly tolerated, ”said Thomas Böhm, Volksbank Regional Director and President of Creaktiv, on behalf of all participating companies and institutions.
Waldviertel Soroptimistinnen seit 1986 active
This year’s campaign will set a “strong signal against violence against women,” highlight the women of the Schrems-based Soroptimist Club Waldviertel. Since the association was founded in 1986, members have been committed to supporting and promoting women and girls, their rights and their education.
In tune with the UN Women campaign, the club, under the leadership of Renate Wittig, works against violence against women. Ruth Schremmer, head of public relations: “The fight against violence against women, which unfortunately still exists, is one of the main objectives of the Soroptimist Club.”
