35,000 homicides – every year

Around 60,000 people are missing in Mexico. Many are believed to have been kidnapped and killed by powerful criminal syndicates. The Latin American country has not been able to control its violence problem for years: in the last year alone, more than 35,000 people have died in Mexico.

Much violence has been perpetrated by criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking, kidnapping, and extortion. Most crimes are never solved.
