Dominic Thiem missed his second major title after his first Grand Slam title at the US Open on Sunday in the ATP Finals. The world number three, who had previously defeated world numbers one and two, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, was defeated by Russian Daniil Medvedev after 2:42 hours with 6: 4.6: 7 (2), 4: 6. Thiem takes 800 ATP meters and 861,000 gross London dollars.
Medvedev, who won the tournament for the first time, also made tennis history. The world number four beat the top 3 players in a single tournament. Only three other players (Becker 94, Nalbandian 2007, Djokovic 2007) have done it in the last three decades. The live ticker for reading.

Thiem now has 17 tournament wins and 11 tour finals. The 2021 season is scheduled to begin with the ATP Cup in Australia, but there are still question marks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
