VSV has ended Vienna Capitals’ winning streak in the ICE Hockey League. The Villachers won 4-1 at home on Saturday and inflicted their first loss on the Viennese after five successes in a row. In doing so, they gave the Red Lantern to Linz. Innsbruck lost to Fehervar 3: 4 at home. On Sunday, Salzburg, the last team after the coronavirus outbreak, will return to action. The “policemen” compete in the KAC after a break of almost a month.
The Capitals, which had come out of the forced three-week hiatus with two promising victories, lagged behind in the previously weak 0: 3 VSV. Benjamin Lanzinger (4th), Scott Kosmachuk (32nd / PP) and Kevin Schmidt (35th) scored for the Carinthians. On the other hand, for the strongest visiting team in the league so far, Taylor Vause (39th) was only successful in the majority shortly before the end of the middle third. However, the tapas did not catch up again. With his second powerful player three minutes before the end, Kosmachuk secured the 4: 1 and thus finally clear conditions.
Fehervar wins in Innsbruck
Innsbruck made it exciting again against Fehervar despite a 1: 4 deficit: in the later stages. After Samuel Herr’s 3: 4 15 seconds before the end, Braden Christoffer even had a chance to equalize, but missed due to guest goalkeeper Daniel Kornakker. Thus, the Hungarians only achieved their third victory in Innsbruck in the most recent eleven games and tied on points with the Capitals, who were second behind Graz.
