Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) tested positive for the corona virus. This was announced by his office on Saturday.
Doskozil is “under the circumstances fine” with only mild symptoms, he said. The governor, of course, will follow official instructions and will work from home.
After positive cases occurred in the course of routine screening in Doskozil’s work environment, the Governor of Burgenland immediately isolated himself.
Second positive test
He himself tested negative for the first time in the course of this exam. Another PCR test on Saturday was positive. “In the next few days I will be working from home in close coordination with my government colleagues and my office,” the governor announced.
Doskozil again appealed to the inhabitants of Burgenland to adhere to all precautionary rules and avoid contacts: “The high number of infections in Austria makes it necessary to take special care and avoid unnecessary social contacts. My own case shows that it can become infected despite strict security measures. “
