“I am the state!”: The fired press officer complains to the city of Vienna.

As a general rule, the public rarely knows the press officers. Werner Kaizar is an exception. Former press spokesman for the (still) deputy mayor of the FPÖ, Dominik Nepp, and a proven horse fan, came out with statements that were probably not intended for the general public, and later gave extensive interviews about the racy events. His employer, the city of Vienna, fired the 42-year-old after the allegations emerged. But now the former press spokesman is seeking his reinstatement, and the city is suing. The corresponding procedures are pending in the labor and social court.

But what had happened? Kaizar is said to have threatened his wife’s ex-husband over the phone: “I am the state! My competence in this city is to close every project, every project in the city. I am close to the Vienna State Police Directorate, the Magistrate! “

“You are a worm!”

When his counterpart suggested a “personal meeting,” Kaizar is reported to have added: “Think carefully about every step, every word you make from now on. I run all companies to you. You have the police around your neck, you have the magistrate around your neck ”. And then: “You are a worm! ”The MAIL has a corresponding record of the phone call.

Only a few days after the accusations were known, the city of Vienna reacted and pulled the rope. The employee was fired without notice with immediate effect due to a “serious breach of duty.”
