Austria has been locked up again since Tuesday. Outbound rules and contact restrictions apply. On the first day there were 97 reports across Austria under the Covid-19 Measures Act, two corporal mandates under the Epidemic Law, and 32 bodily injunctions under the Covid-19 Measures Act.
For the rest, the first day of the hard confinement controls was “very positive from the police point of view,” the Interior Department said Wednesday.
However, the Viennese police in the Hernals district should have been surprised: despite the smoking ban that has been in place for about a year, the gastronomy ban that has been in effect for about two weeks (except service delivery or pick-up) and the tough lockdown that has been in place since Tuesday, officials have discovered an open shisha bar in the district, attended by between 10 and 20 guests. According to the Interior Ministry, the notifications are still being made.

- Burgenland: 2 notifications, 0 board mandates
- Carinthia: 7 announcements, 0 board mandates
- Lower Austria: 33 notifications, 2 board mandates
