The labor offensive began
The reason for the press conference was the official start of Corona’s new labor offensive, for which the AMS will have a special budget of 700 million euros until 2022. Around 100,000 unemployed people will receive training and higher education measures that will be focus on the areas of digitization, metal professions, care, social and care services, as well as environment / sustainability. A part of the budget should also be earmarked for career guidance, higher operational qualification during the short-term work phase, and socio-economic enterprises.
“In the crisis, you have to train. We have to be prepared for the rebound. Companies will need well-trained specialists,” Kopf said. Aschbacher asked all the unemployed to register with the AMS for training. If the training lasts more than four months, the unemployment benefit is complemented by an education bonus of 180 euros per month.
Crown jobs for unemployed
Aschbacher again asked the unemployed to apply for temporary corona jobs, such as contact tracing. “Every helping hand is needed here.”
