After the attack: Cobra officials show presence

After the terrorist attack in Vienna on November 2, Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) continues to consider that “surveillance is required in all federal states”. Officers from the Cobra special unit are in protective gear and with long guns “in critical areas of public life” such as traffic hubs, religious institutions, government buildings and shopping centers. Police spokesman Hans Wolfgruber says operatives from the operational unit are also increasingly present “to strengthen the subjective feeling of security and as a preventive measure.”
