A 27-year-old from the Eferding district towed two trailers loaded with a total of 19 tons of sugar beet with a tractor in Scharten. On a sloping road the team began to slide trailers tip over and over at the height of two garages. The two overturned trailers blocked the entire lane of the Schartener Landesstraße.
The load spread across the lane and through two garage doors on a rural property. The impact caused a crack in the roof of one of the garages. In the second garage there was a car damaged by the garage door and the beets.
The trailers were recovered by the Scharten, Finklham and Alkoven fire departments. The L531 lane was completely closed during mining activity. The fire services established a local detour.
