53-year-old man dies in car accident in Zell am See

A 53-year-old man was killed last night in Schmitten in Zell am See (Pinzgau). As the police confirmed to SALZBURG24, the driver has likely lost control of his SUV. Then the vehicle fell 400 meters down a ski slope. A second person (54) in the car suffered serious injuries.
Apparently the driver had lost control of his vehicle on an unpaved forest road. The all-terrain vehicle crashed about 400 meters on a ski slope. Both occupants were thrown from the vehicle. The 53-year-old man died at the scene of the accident.

The 54-year-old man was taken to Zell am See hospital by emergency services with serious injuries. In addition to the fire brigade and the Red Cross, mountain rescue services and the police were also on duty.
Details were not known at first, the investigation in Zell am See is ongoing.
