One person died last night at the Sonnalm ski resort in Zell am See (Pinzgau). As the police confirmed to SALZBURG24, the driver has likely lost control of his SUV. Then the vehicle fell 400 meters down a ski slope. Another person in the car was seriously injured.
Apparently, the driver had lost control of his vehicle on a loading route. Then the off-road vehicle crashed on a ski slope.
Fatal accident on the Pinzgau ski slope
The seriously injured man was transferred to the Zell am See hospital by emergency services. However, for the second person involved, any help came too late. It was not clear at first how the momentous accident occurred in the Sonnalm ski area. In addition to the fire brigade and the Red Cross, mountain rescue services and the police were also on duty.
Details were not known at first, the investigation in Zell am See is ongoing.
