Apple: they present new Macbooks with the miracle chip M1 – computers

Today’s iPhones are about to hit stores, which is why Apple has unveiled the next innovations …

On Tuesday night (November 10), the group began another product presentation, as was the last time via video. For the first time, the iPhone group presents a new generation of computers that incorporate a processor that they have developed.

It’s called the M1 and it replaces the Intel chips that were once common in Apple computers – at least some.

The first models with the new Wunderchip are the Macbook Air, the Mac Mini and a Macbook Pro with a 13-inch screen. They should be on the market next week.

Apple promises significantly higher graphics and computing power for all three models thanks to the M1 chip, so comparable Windows computers would be left behind. At the same time, the battery life of Macbooks is considerably longer than that of the respective predecessor models, according to Apple.

For the Macbook Pro, for example, Apple claims that the battery should last up to 17 hours when browsing the Internet, while Apple’s laptop should last an extremely long 20 hours when playing video. According to the manufacturer, that’s 10 hours longer than the previous model.

The M1 chip belongs to the family of Apple processors that are already installed in the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. This will also allow iPhone and iPad applications to be used on the new Macs.

Prices for the three new devices: the MacBook Air starts at 1,100.50 euros, the 13-inch MacBook Pro at 1,412.45 euros, and the new Mac Mini at 778.85 euros.

Starting November 12, Apple will also release the new version of its computer operating system, Mac OS Big Sur.

Live-Ticker

  1. Prices

The Macbook Air should cost in Germany from 1100.50 euros.
The Mac Mini starts at 778.85 euros.
The Macbook Pro with a 13-inch screen is available from 1,412.45 euros.

  2. The new operating system

As usual, it comes in all current Macs.

  3. The start of the order is NOW!

As usual at Apple, new products can now be ordered.

  4. What’s not in the new Macbooks

… it is also a real surprise.

  5. The M1 in the Pro version

Of course, Apple’s new miracle chip is also available in a Macbook Pro. At least the one with the 13-inch screen.
Apple promises: the best battery life ever seen on a Mac.

  6. Over it

Another device that will benefit from the M1. The little box of math starts at $ 699.

  7. And, of course, Apple does not sell chips.

… but a new generation of notebooks. First device: Macbook Air with M1. It is said to be faster than 98 percent of laptops sold in recent years.
The new Macbook Air has a 13-inch screen and starts at $ 999 in the US.

  8. Perhaps the most important novelty

IPhone and iPad apps will run on Mac!

  9. The M1 operating system

It should be Big Sur. Apple promises: We have optimized all Mac and iPhone apps for the M1 as well.

  10. Size comparison

Apple shows that the M1 is faster and more energy efficient than previous graphics chips and CPUs. Perhaps the most important development: with the M1, laptops and computers should start as fast as an iPhone or iPad.

  11. … and this is what the logo looks like

Exciting: The architecture must allow access to memory from all elements. Apple wants to optimize battery life while quickly calculating at the same time.
Apple promises: nobody offers more power per watt of energy consumed.

  12. It’s actually about Mac

Apple’s new M1 chip is set to power Macs in the future.

  13. “One more thing”

… was by the way the formulation that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs used when he surprisingly presented something innovative. Let’s see if Tim Cook didn’t set the bar too high today.

  14. We are about to start!

Just a few more minutes and the presentation begins. There are spherical sounds on the website, apparently inspiring philosophical thoughts.

  15. Apple could prove that today …

The first computers with Apple’s own processor, the new Mac OS Big Sur operating system … Everything that is known so far about the expected news read here.

  16. The great rearrangement

As before each presentation, Apple has temporarily closed its online store.
