The number of patients at the hospital has increased significantly, to a total of 3,549, 320 more than on Monday. A total of 495 Covid-19 patients had to be treated in intensive care units on Tuesday. There were also 3,054 sick people in the normal wards. 64,704 people in Austria were considered actively infected.
26,540 test results were reported in the last 24 hours. With 6,120 new infections, the positive rate is 23 percent. 164,866 people have tested positive since the pandemic began. As of Tuesday, 9:30 am, 98,663 were considered to have recovered.
On average, there were 6,568 new infections each day for the past seven days. Most of the new cases were on Tuesday with 1,183 in Upper Austria and 1,027 in Lower Austria.
954 new infections were recorded in Vienna, 950 in Tyrol and 509 in Vorarlberg. In Salzburg there were 310 new infections in the last 24 hours, 242 in Krnten and 150 in Burgenland.
