The Minister of Labor addressed a request to the population: “Get involved and prepare yourself for training and higher education, and perhaps you will also accept a job, for example, as an assistant to Corona in locating contacts, in the Red Cross or in administrative area”.

Schramböck said he was confident it would help companies get through the winter well. As soon as a vaccine is available, things will go uphill again, as was seen yesterday on the stock exchanges when a breakthrough in vaccine development was known.

She is proud that an Austrian company is also participating, the finance minister said. This company was also supported by research grants. This shows how important it is to make preparations so that even in times of crisis you have companies that are innovative and can implement new things. That, along with the digital transformation, also makes the location more stable, Schramböck explained.

But the pandemic is not over yet. The infections are comparable to a snowball that, if not stopped, turns into an avalanche. And now you need cheap avalanche protection.

Here are measures that have proven themselves and will now be available for a longer time. In addition, however, other measures are needed, such as replacement of 80 percent of income. The first payments would be made shortly, Schramböck explained. That is also important because the payment of the Christmas bonus is imminent. When it comes to paying sales compensation, Austria is much faster than Germany, which is not yet ready for implementation.

Although the pandemic will not leave the economy intact, the effects of the second wave will be less than those of the first, the economy minister concluded.
