Nine cars and a truck are involved in an accident on the southbound highway. The loss of time is enormous, it amounts to more than an hour.
At 6:15 am on Tuesday, the ARBÖ reported a serious accident on the southern highway (A2) with several vehicles. A mile-long traffic jam develops rapidly in the southbound direction of travel, directly in front of the crash site between Wiener Neudorf and the industrial center of Lower Austria-South.
By 7:00 am, ARBÖ traffic expert Jürgen Fraberger had already lost more than 60 minutes. “The accident with 9 cars and a truck has a particular effect on the early morning traffic. Travelers going from Vienna to Graz have to calculate more than an hour longer.”
At the moment only one lane remains free and rescue work is in full swing. On the alternative route, Wiener Neustädter Straße (B17), Fraberger also reports Stop & Go traffic. “There are already traffic jams and up to 30 minutes of time wasted on the south motorway in the direction of Vienna. The blue lights in the opposite direction and, unfortunately, also the curiosity of some motorists currently do not allow the traffic to flow”, reports the expert in ARBÖ traffic in conclusion. At the moment, it is not yet clear how long the disabilities will last.
