After a three-week hiatus related to the coronavirus, the KAC have suffered a loss at home against the laggards Dornbirn Bulldogs in the ICE Hockey League. The Klagenfurters evened a deficit of 1: 3 to 3: 3 on Monday night, but after a goalless extension, Vorarlberg’s team prevailed on penalties.
In an early game of round 22, Anton Leif Johan Straka (seventh) gave the guests the advantage. KAC drew with Thomas Hundertpfund (15th), but thanks to hits from Andrew Michael Yogan (17th / PP) and Sam Antonitsch (19th), Dornbirn entered the first third break with a 3-1 lead.
KAC leveled thanks to goals from Lukas Haudum (22nd) and Fredrik Eriksson (42nd), and there were no more goals in the rest of regulation time or extra time. On the penalty shootout, the Bulldogs had the best finish for themselves, Henrik Nilsson scored the decisive attempt.
The penultimate of the Dornbirn table was able to celebrate his first success against the record champion Klagenfurt, fourth-ranked since January 2018, or nine losses in a row.
