Helene Fischer takes a touching farewell: “I liked you!” – Schlager

Pop star Helene Fischer says goodbye to an old friend for the last time, but it’s not about a person.

For 60 years, Berlin-Tegel Airport was the nerve center of the rest of the world for the German capital. It is now being retired and will be replaced by the new explosive-cost Berlin-Schönefeld airport, which was completed with a considerable delay.

Shortly before TXL closed, Helene Fischer was there too. Via Instagram, she wrote a poignant obituary for the venerable airport: “I liked you Tegel, you were straightforward, unconventional, not particularly impressive and beautiful, but they knew what they had of you!” Said the successful superstar. It is a farewell with one eye crying and laughing. “Catching the plane at the last minute was only possible with you! Bye! # Thank youTXL”, Helene jokes at the end.

Today, Sunday (November 8, 2020), the last plane took off from Berlin-Tegel. It was an AirFrance machine bound for Paris. Back then, in 1960, the airline was also the first to land in TXL. On Sunday night, the airport lights will remain symbolically off. It should remain operational until May 2021.
