Because the participants simply ignored the Corona rules, the police broke up the “Corona Madness” rally in central Vienna.
At lunchtime it got noisy at Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz: Covid skeptics had gathered for a demonstration under the title “Crown Madness” in the center of Vienna. The police were also there and had a lot of problems with those present.
During the meeting, the participants had to be asked on several occasions through loudspeakers to comply with the corona measures against which they were protesting. “It had to be determined that in most cases this was not the case,” the state police department said.

Since not all requests had been met, the demonstration broke up at 1:47 pm in consultation with the health authorities. But not all the participants of the demonstration dispersed in all directions, some went directly to the Federal Chancellery and then to Heldenplatz. Only from there “the participants left without incident”.
However, there was a flurry of announcements: there were a total of 38 announcements under the COVID-19 Regulation, one in accordance with the Vienna State Security Law and one organ mandate under the Epidemic Law.
