An apartment was seriously damaged in an apartment fire in an apartment building in Vienna-Hernals. Fortunately, no one was injured.
By the time the alerted professional fire brigade in Vienna arrived at the scene of the incident in Lacknergasse at around 5.15 p.m., flames were already coming from a window on the street side of the burning apartment.
An extinguishing line with respiratory protection for fire fighting was immediately brought to the third floor. A quench line was also used in the external attack through the rotating ladder. Thanks to the brave efforts of the firefighters, the fire was quickly controlled and further spread prevented.
To avoid smoke in the stairwell, it was ventilated with a high-performance fan. The adjoining apartments were searched by a respiratory protection team.
Miraculously, there were no injuries in the incident. No people could be found in the apartment affected by the fire and neighboring apartments were not affected by the fire. Exactly what caused the fire is still being investigated.
