In Philadelphia, police said there was an attempt to rob the polling place. Police in the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania received a tip that a vehicle with armed people had left the state of Virginia to attack the convention center, a police officer said.
One person was arrested and the vehicle and a weapon were seized. No further information was provided initially.
In Pennsylvania, Democrats have yet to decide the choice between President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden. With 20 voters, the state is one of the largest in the country. If Biden won there, he would have won the presidential election. Currently, Trump’s head start is shrinking as more ballots received by mail are evaluated. Supporters of the Democratic Party had turned to vote-by-mail with more force than Republicans in view of the corona risk.
In Pennsylvania, ballots that arrive up to three days after the November 3 election date must still be counted. In front of the voting center, numerous people demonstrated that all the votes would be counted.
Current President Trump had falsely declared himself the winner of the presidential election and called for the counting of more votes to be stopped. Time and time again, the president of the United States makes unsubstantiated allegations of fraud and threatens legal action.
Federal judge rejects Trump’s attempt to stop counting
However, a US federal judge rejected the Trump campaign team’s request to stop the count in Pennsylvania. Judge Paul Diamond said in a brief statement that the lawsuit will not be allowed.
Trump wanted to force the count to continue only if Republican observers attend. However, following a court order, Republicans now have access to the Philadelphia Electoral College. Trump’s team believes that the observers’ work will be hampered.
