Breathe in easy in SK Rapid!

In a turbulent match, the Hütteldorfers secured their first win in the Europa League group stage with a close 4: 3 home win over Dundalk FC (match report >>>).

The team’s performance was not at all encouraging, most of the players on the field acted too incorrectly. Only a few were able to achieve a normal shape or even more.

LAOLA1 analyzes the performance of all Rapid players and distributes the ratings (1 = very good, 2 = good, 3 = satisfactory, 4 = fair, 5 = poor).

Agree or not? Then Rapid rated himself in the comments. These are Rapid-Kicker’s qualifications against Dundalk FC:

Paul Gartler – 90 minutes – Grade: 3

Third game in a row for 23-year-old Styrian at Rapid-Tor! So far convincing, he looked unhappy at 0: 1 when he was caught off guard by a header. Otherwise it was little to do, but he acted confidently in the few actions and noisily pushed the team from behind.

Filip Stojkovic – 90 minutes – yellow – score: 4

He was involved in the uncertainty in the back team, but only allowed one big fumble at the end. I felt more comfortable after switching to four. Lots of offensive runs and a stocky butt also provided assistance for Hofmann’s header. Lack of penalty in injury time was completely unnecessary.

Maximilian Hofmann – 90 minutes – goal, yellow – score: 3

Recently in good shape, the head of defense was initially a symbol of faulty defense, possibly also due to the three behind. He lost the head duel at 0-1, saw yellow at the beginning (18) and played many inaccurate bad passes. No safety factor! A note was saved with a header goal.

Mateo Barac – substituted in minute 54 – score: 3

He was the safest defender in the chain of three, which this time did not perform as expected. He won a lot of head duels and built the game from behind. Gartler knocked him out and left the scene with a bloody nose.

Thorsten Schick – 90 minutes – yellow – grade: 2

He has earned his place in recent matches. At first low-key, he struggled more and more in the game, scratching the right flank and kicking most of the standards. Missed good shot opportunities where there was more to him.

Dejan Ljubicic – 90 Minuten – Tor – Note: 2

He advanced in the field as boss and was one of the few who came close to normal. Lots of ball wins, a good overview and the important 1: 1 draw. After a laborious start, he ensured greater organization. A criminal offense against him was not penalized (60th).

Christoph Knasmüllner – replaced in minute 72 – score: 4

Back in the starting eleven after a goal against Altach, as Ritzmaier was ill. However, very little involved in the game, two people stayed outside, one with his head, in another he shot the goalkeeper from five meters. More responsibility is required of you.

Dejan Petrovic – substituted in the 72nd minute – score: 3

Some bad passes in the early stages and a couple of coach Kühbauer criticized wrong decisions in the structure of the game. However, he found his way better as the game progressed, acted as a ball distributor and filled in the holes backwards.

Maximilian Ullmann – 90 minutes – Grade: 3

This time he was more tied defensively and could not play with his offensive strength and shooting quality. It was well integrated into the development game, but it definitely had more active games.

Ercan Kara – 90 Minuten – Note: 3

This time he was disconnected in an unusual way, but also because he was not fed with balls. He was not the target player as usual, he got few balls and hardly had scenes in the penalty area. He missed the best chance with a shot near the goal (75th).

Kelvin Arase – 90 minutes – Tor – Note: 3

Active start with lots of misunderstandings and bad passports, but also good approaches. Then he completely disappeared from the scene. He never really got into his sprints and dribbles. But he took the only opportunity to make the important 2-2.

Mario Sonnleitner – substituted in minute 54 – yellow – score: 4

Bitter appearance! A veteran entered the game for the injured Barac, who was later traded to a back four. He saddled up on his back and forced the Irish goalkeeper with a header chance to shine (73.). Until the lack of penalty did a lot of damage to Rapid.

Yusuf Demir – substituted in the 72nd minute – goal – score: 2

Reported after the Corona failure. I was immediately very agile and traveled a lot, but initially without actions. He received a serious foul from Dummigan, red would also have been possible. With a 4: 2 interim, he made the important preliminary decision.

Srdjan Grahovac – substituted in the 72nd minute – score: 3

He enabled himself in the final minutes and played his combative note that Kühbauer wants to see from him. But he also failed to bring more calm in the turbulent final phase.
