Eleven more injured in Vienna hospitals

The 20-year-old killer shot a total of four people in his attack on Monday night in Vienna. Police corrected their information on those who were shot Wednesday night. Three of the murdered victims were Austrians: a 44-year-old woman, two men aged 21 and 39, and a German student. Of the 22 injured, eleven are still in hospital.

The 21-year-old Austrian (previously posing as Macedonian) was shot at the corner of the meat market and the farmers market, the 39-year-old Austrian in front of a fast food restaurant on Schwedenplatz. There are 22 other injured people between the ages of 18 and 55 registered with the police. 13 injured, including the 28-year-old policeman, suffered gunshot wounds, the others were injured, for example, by splinters or on the run. Seven women were injured: an 18-year-old girl with dual citizenship between Switzerland and Germany, a 29-year-old Bosnian, three Austrians aged 30, 33 and 43, a 34-year-old Slovak and a 36-year-old Chinese.

Ten Austrians between the ages of 21 and 55 are among the male injuries. There is also a 25-year-old from Luxembourg, a 26-year-old Afghan, a 34-year-old Slovak and three Germans aged 24, 28 and 31, according to the Interior Ministry. Eleven injured are still receiving treatment at the hospital. On Wednesday, two more people could be admitted to home care. Three victims are still in intensive care units, reported a spokeswoman for the APA’s Vienna Health Association.
