The two men arrested in Switzerland (18 and 24) are apparently “colleagues” of the Viennese gunman, and both are involved in criminal proceedings.
In connection with the terrorist attack in Vienna on Monday night, the following day, the Swiss authorities arrested two men from the canton of Winterthur, “Today” reported. They are said to have been in contact with the terrorist and also knew him physically.
Men already known to the police
According to the Federal Police Office (Fedpol), the two Swiss were already known to the authorities and were involved in criminal proceedings “in the field of terrorism”. The trial against the older defendants will be handled by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, and the trial against the younger defendant, the Winterthur Youth Ombudsman.
The Swiss and Austrian authorities would now work together at “full speed” on the investigation. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer would like to convene a commission of inquiry, also on a possible leak in the anti-terrorist operation “Ramses”. More about this HERE >>
