Normal operations should start again in Viennese schools on Wednesday. The school was suspended on Tuesday due to the attack in Vienna.
According to the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education, a normal school day is scheduled for Wednesday in Vienna schools, subject to other requirements from the security authorities. Then or the next day, the “transition day” at senior high schools, vocational middle and high schools (BMHS) or vocational schools must take place before switching to distance education, the APA said.
Compulsory schooling was suspended in Vienna on Tuesday
On Tuesday night, compulsory schooling in Vienna was suspended due to the attack on Monday night. Care was offered in schools, but was only used occasionally.
For this reason, the “transition day” before the crown-related shift to distance education in higher schools was mostly skipped: on Tuesday, high school students must come to school with protection for the mouth and nose and be informed about the design of distance learning in one hour of the class meeting. This lesson will now be made up on Wednesday, but schools will also have the flexibility to make it up on Thursday if necessary.
The normal operation of kindergartens is also planned. Here too, due to the attack, the obligation to care for children in their last year of kindergarten was suspended.
