Rosegg – Updated: Car accident claimed a death

At around 12:30 pm, a 31-year-old woman was driving her car on Rosegger Landesstraße L52 coming from St. Niklas. At 7.46 kilometers, he took his car around a right curve for unexplained reasons in the left lane. The driver collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle, the vehicle was driven by a 59-year-old woman in the Klagenfurt Land district.
The 31-year-old woman’s passenger, a 24-year-old man from Villach, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The driver herself and another 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries. The 59-year-old approaching driver was slightly injured.

The driver of the accident fled

Despite the injuries, the 31-year-old fled the accident scene without further attending to the injured. He was found 500 meters from the accident site by emergency services during a search. The wounded were admitted to the LKH Villach.
A breathalyzer test performed on the 31-year-old driver was positive.
