Celebrating without masks, dancing and drinking standing up: four bars in Vienna cleared – Coronavirus Vienna

In Vienna, four restaurants had to be completely evicted on Halloween night, according to the immediate measures of the municipal authorities, for violations of the Corona regulations. Here, even after the established curfew, the party without masks crowded in: no distance rules, standing consumption, guests dancing, no mouth and nose protection, according to a Sunday broadcast.

The situations found in some bars were shocking. In a well-known shisha bar, 20 shisha pipes were consumed and shared among the guests. “Risking health in such an irresponsible and conscious manner in the current situation is unacceptable,” emphasized Walter Hillerer, head of the Emergency Measures group. According to the broadcast, 32 notifications and 16 corporate mandates were issued in accordance with the Covid-19 Measures Law, as well as 40 notifications in accordance with Commercial Regulations, the Tobacco and Non-Smoking Protection Law and other ordinances.

“An intensive investigation was carried out beforehand,” Hillerer reported. It was a selective action together with the Vienna State Police Directorate against “critical points of irrationality”. Attention shifted to the Halloween parties and “graduation parties” in view of the upcoming closure. The Vienna Market Office and MA-36-Gewerbetechnik were also present at the spotlight. Hillerer announced more controls.
