When school starts again after fall break, the crown traffic light for schools in eight federal states will remain “yellow,” Tyrol is still checking. The decision is based on the recommendations of the traffic light commission for the education sector and the wishes of the federal states.
Before that, the state capital, Flachgau, Tennengau, and Pongau were oranges in Salzburg. After fall break, all districts will be colored uniformly yellow. In the case of “yellow”, mouth and nose protection must be worn outside of class. People who are not in school must wear a mask throughout the school building. The sport should only be practiced outdoors, there are requirements for gyms such as small groups, ventilation and short contact times during exercises. They are only sung outdoors or with mouth and nose protection.
For most countries, the “yellow” traffic light color means there is no change compared to the week before the fall break. Only in Salzburg and Tyrol were some districts “orange”. In Salzburg the change has now returned to “yellow”, in Tyrol a decision is still pending.
Preventive measures outside of school
However, the Ministry of Education is considering additional preventive measures for the extracurricular area. This applies to school events or the stay of non-school students in schools. Excursions in individual classes to the park or the like should still be possible, the ministry stressed. The details should become clear in the next few days.
